How to take care of laminate and of parquet?
Once you have chosen the flooring for the interior, it is important to consider maintaining its initial appearance.
We are recommending simple rules for looking after the wood flooring and laminate:
If your parquet features oil varnish, after subsequent cleaning with wet cloth it will start to darken. Thus, the floor should be treated: either with a cloth from which water is squeezed out; or with a specific liquid, that has a label saying which flooring it is suitable for.
Wet and well-squeezed cloth will be useful in case of laminate as well. However, appropriately chosen liquid, that is specifically meant for laminate, will treat the floor better and there will be no need for wiping it multiple times; this will also protect the floor pattern from mechanical damage.
In our showrooms, we present laminate flooring that is manufactured using Quick Step technology and which is meant for high-humidity areas. It can be used for kitchen and bathroom flooring. Its inside and corners are processed using special gels; pine tree materials are being used for its production. For all these reasons, this laminate flooring endures in humid areas better and is a perfect choice for studio-style houses.
Mechanical damage is much more noticeable in case of parquet; marks of shoe heels and furniture feet can be seen more easily. Whereas, high-quality laminate is more durable when it comes to such damage. Laminate flooring presented in our showrooms have usage duration of 20-30 years; it maintains initial outward appearance when properly taken care of.
In contrast with laminate, usage duration of parquet can be increased through scraping. For three-layered parquet, this can only be done by collecting a few millimetres of the surface.
